We granted allowance of appeal in this case limited to the issue of whether application of the registration provisions set forth at Section 9793 of the Registration of Sexual Offenders Act (Act), 42 Pa.C.S. § 9791 et seq., constitutes an ex post facto violation where Appellant pled guilty to the offenses of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault and where commission of these offenses occurred prior to the effective date of the registration provisions of the Act. For the reasons that follow, we hold that no ex post facto violation occurred.
